Couldn't think of a witty title for this one... Sorry

Here's a commercial I acted in recently. It was a project done by some of my former classmates at the New York Film Academy. Shot on 35mm, with a great crew.

Back in the Saddle Again

I finally got back on the water again. More importantly, I got back on the water with my best friend, and fellow sailing enthusiast, Daniel. I received an invite to go sailing from Greg Hold at Gotham Yacht on his 50' Beneteau. With a group of about 20 people, sailors and revelers alike, we set off from the 79th st. Boat Basin in Manhattan.

Feeling the boat pitch and roll with the waves, and the wind blowing through my hair, I looked up at the beautifully designed mainsail, and felt completely at peace. I also accomplished one of my goals that I had set when moving to New York City; Sailing around the Statue of Liberty.

All in all, it was an incredibly refreshing and pleasant experience. I can't wait to go again.

New Digs

All moved in to the new apartment. Daniel moved up from South Carolina last monday, and we've spent all weekend scouring Queens and Brooklyn for free furniture. It feels so good to finally have a place to call my own.

First Short

Here's a short I just completed for New York Film Academy. It's a Mise-En-Scene project.

For every journey, a first step.

I've finished my first two days of classes at the New York Film Academy, and I couldn't be more excited for what is to come. It's so refreshing to be surrounded by people that share my passion. I look forward to learning as much as I can from everyone there, and learning my craft.

Blast from the past

Found this while sorting through the endless amount of needless crap on my hard-drive. Myself and a few friends made it about 13 years ago and planned on actually making the movie at some point, but never followed through because, well, we were 15. Anyhow, enjoy.

A short taste

This is just a short that I shot with my old iPhone 4. No plot, just trying to make a cognitive scene only using a cellphone and myself.

Coming Attractions

More updates will be coming soon. I'm starting my first semester at the Film Academy next week, and will be making regular updates from then on.

A New Dawn

Not everything is going to go your way. Sometimes you feel like something is a sure thing, meant to be, and then it falls apart in your hands despite your best efforts. Sometimes you meet the woman of your dreams, go to radical lengths to make it work (ie. move 1100 miles to a new city to be closer), and find yourself single within a week. Sometimes you move into a room off of Craigslist, only to find out that the other people in the house are psychopaths with no discernible sleep schedule.

All you can do is suck it up and keep moving forward. Realize that nothing is permanent, and you've already made it through dozens of bad situations before this. There's always tomorrow, and if there's not, then at least you don't have to worry about it anymore.

It's time to move on. Accepting the things I cannot change, and working towards my goals. I've started the process of applying for the July start at the New York Film Academy, found a new job as a security guard in Manhattan, and have begun convincing myself that being single in New York City definitely has it's advantages.

Here's to new beginnings. Cheers.

New Direction

Well, seeing as I no longer have a boat. I guess this blog can no longer be about my sailing experiences. So, instead. It will now be a chronicle of my experiences as I assimilate to New York City. Stay tuned for updates.
